Weekly Timesheets
Once a week you can submit your trainer's actions for the week in order to level up your Pokémon, earn credits, and otherwise enjoy some bonuses for playing in the game. Mod responses to timesheets will take place every Sunday. You have up to one week as a grace period to turn in your sheet. After that, timesheets will no longer be accepted. To submit your timesheet, respond with a comment to the appropriate week. Mods will respond with RNG results wherever needed.
While submitting a timesheet is not required to be in the game, the mods expect players who choose to waive the timesheets to participate fairly -- you shouldn't have more Pokémon, money, etc. than the majority of the other players, or pick up Pokémon that haven't been discovered yet. If you're unsure about anything, feel free to ping the mod with questions and concerns and we'll answer as soon as possible.
QUICK LIST
It takes one day to:
* Move from one route/town to an adjoining route/town.
* Move through two routes/towns (requires Bicycle).
* Move from one route/town to any other unlocked route/town your character has previously visited (requires a Pokemon with the Fly ability).
* Tend personally to one's farm (water and harvest crops, cook meals, gather produce from animals, and do any other task that requires being physically present on the farm). Profits are collected at the end of the day.
* Attend a festival or participate in an event.
* Raise the level of two Pokemon, or one Pokemon by two levels.
* Attempt to capture a wild Pokemon.
* Fish for a wild Pokémon (requires at least an Old Rod).
* Compete at a Gym. (May face multiple trainers in a row, but only for as long as your party is healthy. If your party wipes, the day is over and the party must rest.)
* Rest after a party wipe.
* Increase a Pokemon's affection or happiness by 20%.
* Battle an NPC trainer for money. Does not have to be logged. Money gained is equal to your highest level Pokemon in the party x100.
* Forage for wild items, fish for non-Pokémon (requires any type of fishing rod), or mine for treasure (requires hammer).
Free Actions:
* Use 'Teleport' to move directly to one's farm, or return from the farm to the previous location.
* Battle with another PC Trainer once per day. (Must be RP'd out in a completed log, but results in two levels gained for the winning Pokemon and one level gained for the losing Pokemon.)
* Evolve an eligible Pokemon.
* Water crops (requires a Water type Pokemon to be present on your farm field).
* Harvest crops and gather produce (requires a Pokemon with the Human-Like egg type to be present on your farm).
* Shop for items (must be in a town that sells the appropriate item).
* Trade Pokemon with another PC or NPC trainer.
* Change Pokémon in your party (must be in a town or on your farm).
* Collect items from a Pokemon in your party with the Pick-Up ability (must be listed on the timesheet for mods to be aware of the ability and deliver RNG results)
You get to decide how you want your trainer to spend the previous week. There are a variety of options you can choose from, and there's no need to rush or feel pressured to do everything. Take time to focus on the areas that are the most fun for you. And don't worry; you won't be penalized if you haven't been to your farm for a while. It's assumed that your animals and Pokemon have access to food and water while you're absent, and crops will remain ripe until harvested (with certain exceptions; see below).
* Move from routes and towns to other locations. Traveling takes time! Having a Bicycle can help you move more quickly, as can a Pokemon with the Fly ability. It's not just the foot traffic you have to account for, it's also the time you'd take to eat, sleep, feed your Pokemon, encounter other trainers on the way, and battle/avoid wild Pokemon. If a Pokemon in your party knows Teleport, you can move to and from your farm instantaneously!
* Tend personally to one's farm (water and harvest crops, gather produce from animals, and do any other task that requires being physically present on the farm). Profits are collected at the end of the day. If you have a water type Pokemon present on the farm, even when you're not there, it will water the crops daily and help them advance in stages of growth. Having a Pokemon with the Human-Like egg type around, like Mr. Mime, will ensure that the crops are harvested when they're ready, and that the animal products like milk and wool are collected so long as you've purchased the necessary tools (milker for the cows, clippers for the sheep, etc.). You won't be penalized if you're away from your farm for a long period of time -- animals won't go hungry or get sick, crops won't wither, etc. Any ripe crops will simply stay that way until they're picked. It's assumed that any farm products gathered and noted on the timesheet are sold for profit, so if you plan on keeping anything, make a note of it and keep track of your inventory.
Note #1: The mods aren't going to be super strict about your math and inventory. Just be fair, don't cheat, and have fun with it.
Note #2: The exception to the non-penalization is if you're not present to harvest your crops before a change in the season. Any crops or fruit still on the vine that haven't been picked before the season changes will go bad. For example, if your turnips are full grown but haven't been harvested before the first day of summer, they will wither and be unsuitable for profit. This doesn't apply to crops that can be harvested in multiple seasons, like wheat, unless the wheat hasn't been harvested before a season where it won't grow -- so make sure you harvest everything before winter!
* Attend a festival or participate in an event. It's generally assumed that the event is big enough to consume a large amount of time and attention, which is why it's considered a one-day event. However, if you can justify any other tasks being completed at the same time (leveling up Pokemon during a battle-oriented event for example), that would be acceptable.
* Raise the level of two Pokemon, or one Pokemon by two levels. This one assumes you've spent time personally training your Pokemon WITHOUT sending them into battle, and helping them learn new moves. There's no risk of a party wipe this way. It helps a trainer prepare to move through difficult areas where high-level wild Pokemon are present.
* Attempt to capture a wild Pokemon or fish for one. Not only does this account for the time spent battling the Pokemon, but also getting to know the newly captured Pokemon (if successful in the capture attempt) so that it feels comfortable with your character as a Trainer; it also accounts for allowing your party to rest afterward. Note that you are allowed to either choose a Pokemon that's been previously captured (no longer listed as '?????' on the area list), or you can have the mod roll a percentage to determine which Pokemon you encounter.
* Compete at a Gym. Gathering badges is necessary to collecting a larger number of Pokemon, as well as ensuring that high-level Pokemon respect and obey your character as a Trainer. Because competitors at a gym don't sit around all day waiting for trainers to show up and challenge them (despite what the games may say), a trainer must make a reservation to alert the gym employees and help them get ready for new challengers. A trainer may face multiple trainers in a row, but only for as long as their party is healthy. If they wipe, the day is over and the party must rest for the next day. The trainer may stop the challenge at any time between battles, but not during the middle of a battle if things are going poorly. Make sure you don't push your Pokemon too hard!
* Rest after a party wipe. It's assumed that if your party is wiped out after losing to a wild Pokemon or gym battle, they automatically retreat to the last town they visited (if they're in the wild) and recover at the Pokemon Center. The trainer will need to spend time healing their Pokemon and building up their confidence, morale, and trust. Try to avoid party wipes, because they can decrease your party's happiness by 10% each time it happens! If you're unsure how a battle or capture attempt will go, it's okay to break your timesheet into multiple parts to allow the mod to roll some dice and determine your results. For example, if you try to capture a Pokemon on Monday and aren't sure if you'll succeed, you can choose to either stop the timesheet there and wait for results before submitting other days, or you can list an alternative (Tuesday - level up Pikachu if there's no party wipe on Monday; or rest). It's up to you what you'd prefer to do!
* Increase a Pokemon's affection or happiness by 20%. Choosing this action means that you spend some quality time with your Pokemon, either playing with it, feeding the Pokemon its favorite food, or just letting it relax in the sunshine. The Pokemon will appreciate the extra attention. Some Pokemon require their Happiness or Affection to be maxed out before they can evolve.
* Battle an NPC trainer for money. Does not have to be logged. Money gained is equal to your highest level Pokemon in the party x100. You can assume you are the superior trainer to all of these paltry no-name trainers. It's a good way to make some cash for a needed item if you have a hard time getting back to your farm. To determine how much money you earned, multiply the level of your best-trained Pokemon by 100 credits. For example, if you're traveling with a Level 15 Pikachu as your best fighter, battling an NPC trainer will net you 1,500 credits. Sweet!
* Battle a PC trainer. Whether you gamble for money or items (or favors!) is up to the players, but as long as the battle is logged and completed, you can get some nice bonuses. The winning Pokemon gains two levels as a result, but the loser gains one level as well. You've got nothing to lose but your pride, so have fun challenging other characters! The players are responsible for determining the winner of a match beforehand, but if a decision cannot be made, they can mutually agree to ask the mod, who will evaluate the battle circumstances to choose a winner (or flip a coin if they're just that evenly matched).
* Spend time fishing for non-Pokemon, mining for treasure, or foraging for wild items. You must have the appropriate tool for the job (any kind of fishing rod for fishing, hammer for mining), as well as access to a relevant area (near a body of water for fishing, in Pewter City or a cave/tunnel for mining). Better tools will generally result in better items. For foraging, a trainer will pick up six randomized items in the area per day spent foraging. If they have a Pokemon with the Pick Up ability with them, the number of items found is doubled to twelve. Foraging results may vary depending on the current season. While items may be found anywhere, wild items such as bamboo shoots can only be found in non-civilized areas like routes and tunnels.
* Evolving your Pokemon doesn't take up any additional time. As long as the Pokemon meets all of the requirements to evolve (use of an evolution stone, being at a certain level, etc.), it may do so at any time of the trainer's choosing (except in the middle of a battle). Take care; evolving some Pokemon too early will prevent it from learning certain moves it might not otherwise get to know.
* Trading Pokemon is another action that doesn't consume a large amount of time to be considered significant. Just be aware that if a trainer doesn't have enough badges, a high-leveled Pokemon he or she acquires through a trade might not be willing to listen to what that Trainer wants them to do, and will not be suitable for capturing wild Pokemon, gym battles, or work on the farm. Additionally, a Pokemon's Happiness and Affection will reset to 0% as a result of being unfamiliar with its new Trainer.
